Several huge matches confirmed for Impact Wrestling’s ‘Bound for Glory’ PPV

Impact’s hot streak is heading to NYC. What matches will take place at the Melrose Ballroom?

We are about a month away from Impact Wrestling’s premier PPV event, Bound for Glory. With the event taking place at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City, you just know Impact would have something big planned. Turns out, they decided to give this card an extra push to legendary status.

First confirmed for the event: Austin Aries will defend the Impact World Title against Johnny Impact. The latter recently returned to the company after a brief sabbatical and challenged the champion right away. Aries, who won the title from Pentagon Jr., has recently attained a solid crew in Killer Kross and Moose. Will the former John Morrison be able to beat the odds and win his first title in Impact Wresting?

Since rejoining Impact, Aries has been on a role, becoming “The Belt Collector” and putting on high-quality matches each and every time he steps inside the ring. It will be interesting to see how the New York crowd treats “The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived” when he steps into the ring with a parkour legend.

Another match confirmed on the card is a six-man tag team warfare match. The trio of LAX (Santana, Ortiz and Konnan) will face off against The OGz (Homicide, Hernandez and King). Since Konnan returned from a storyline beating, both factions have been at war with one another. While Santana and Ortiz put on great matches to represent what LAX is all about, Homicide and Hernandez ARE LAX. Neither team will be defending the Impact World Tag Team Titles. The sheer brutality of the match will make that small tidbit obsolete.

While having Konnan and King wrestle one another in 2018, especially the former, is not ideal, having a weapons stipulation can enhance the efforts of both men.

Finally, another hardcore-type match will be taking place. oVe (Dave Crist, Jake Crist and Sami Callihan) will be in an oVe Rules match against Pentagon, Fenix and X Division Champion Brian Cage. What is an oVe Rules match? Basically just pure chaos, and whoever pins the opponent, no matter the means, wins.

Callihan has been feuding with Pentagon for quite some time, even losing a hair v. mask match against him at Slammiversary. Inserting Pentagon’s brother Fenix into the feud is a given considering their history. Calling themselves the best trio in pro wrestling today, oVe wanted a challenge. With nobody able to beat him for his title, Brian Cage will be bringing his talents into this match. Those talents include a lot of power and a wild agility factor.

On October 14, the evolution of Impact Wrestling will turn into something greater. Tickets are sold out for the event. Stay tuned as more matches are announced.
