Pro Wrestling Shayna Baszler has reportedly signed with WWE The seeds to a potential feud between MMA and pro wrestling’s Four Horsewomen may be growing due to the Shayna Baszler/WWE rumors by Daniel Yanofsky September 21, 2017 The Mae Young Classic has come and gone, but there are still so many questions to be asked. One question going around was who out of the 32 competitors would WWE sign? Kairi Sane, the tournament winner, already signed a two-year deal with the company. But what about the woman who she beat in the finals, Shayna Baszler? The MMA fighter impressed throughout the tournament, and it looks like WWE has taken notice. According to Fightful and Squared Circle Sirens, “The Queen of Spades” has officially signed with WWE. This comes after MMA fighter and Four Horsewomen member Jessamyn Duke made a post on her twitch video gaming channel regarding the news. Baszler (15-11 MMA record) started her professional wrestling career in 2015 and has impressed. She is currently the AIW Women’s Champion and has competed in places like Stardom and Shimmer. The last time the 37-year old competed in an octagon was in February of this year, in a losing effort to Reina Miura at an event held by Japanese promotion Deep. The move would make sense if true. WWE has been teasing a feud between their Four Horsewomen (Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte and Becky Lynch) and Shayna’s group (Ronda Rousey, Duke and Marina Shafir) for quite some time. The rumor going around was that Shayna didn’t win the tournament because she didn’t sign with WWE. That could also explain why there wasn’t any further advancements in the group feud during the finals. Why plan something if it would be all for naught? It sounds like business has picked up however. Reportedly being backstage during the most recent NXT tapings does help transform the news from rumor into reality. With reports of Rousey training to become a professional wrestler, it seems to further the case of Baszler’s signing. She wouldn’t go anywhere but WWE. With enough experience, Baszler can find a way to go through the NXT women’s division and straight to a title opportunity. Storyline wise, it would make sense to work her way up before a big feud is set. Survivor Series seems to be the best time for the feud to happen, and if she is signed with the company, the storyline would have to commence soon. Do you think Shayna Baszler will be signed by WWE?
