Somerset adds Ryan Kussmaul to pitching rotation.

The Somerset Patriots announced the signing of right hander Ryan Kussmaul and has been activated ahead of their series opener against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

Kussmaul was a former Atlantic League all-star with the Long Island Ducks in 2015 where he went 5-2 with a 3.42 ERA in 55 games. He had 26 saves in 55.1 innings of service.

He spent the 2018 season playing in the Mexican League for Rieleros de Aguascalientes. He finished 2-3 with a 2.23 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 44.1 innings.

Originally, he was drafted by the Miami Marlins in 2006 but began his professional career with the Chicago White Sox in 2010 where he spent five seasons.
