Baseball Somerset Patriots And RWJUH Somerset To Host Used Baseball/Softball Equipment Drives by Somerset Patriots June 13, 2019 Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have teamed up with RWJ University Hospital Somerset (RWJUH Somerset), an RWJBarnabas Health facility, to host a baseball/softball equipment drive at TD Bank Ballpark for the games on Wednesday, June 19th and Saturday, July 27th. The Somerset Patriots take on the Long Island Ducks at 7:05 pm for both games. The Somerset Patriots and RWJUH Somerset are encouraging fans to bring used baseball/softball equipment to the ballpark for those two games. Specific items being requested are aluminum bats, bags, bases (rubber & soft), baseballs, softballs, catcher’s gear, cleats, gloves, helmets, pants, pitching/batting nets, and pitching machines. Fans that donate equipment for the collections on June 19th or July 27th will receive a ticket voucher for those games or a future game to enjoy on behalf of RWJUH Somerset. The collection will take place at a table located in front of the ticket office. At that time, participating fans will receive the ticket voucher to redeem for their complimentary tickets. The items will then be given to Leveling The Playing Field (LPF), an organization that takes donated sports equipment and redistributes it to low-income kids through schools, leagues, after school programs, and other avenues. The goal of LPF is to make sure every kid has the chance to get off the sidelines and into the game. Since its founding in 2013, LPF has donated over $3,000,000 worth of sporting equipment to over 750 programs. For more information about LPF, please visit www.levelingtheplayingfield.org.
