Muhammad BlogsBridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced the signing of right-handed pitcher El’ Hajj Muhammad.

 

The Franklin, New Jersey native enters his first season with the Somerset Patriots and in the Atlantic League.

 

He spent most of his eight-year professional career in the Cincinnati Reds organization before joining the Chicago White Sox organization last year.

 

Muhammad is a graduate of Franklin High School in Somerset and was drafted by the Reds in the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft from the County College of Morris.

 

He has a minor league career 3.53 ERA, 26 saves, and 290 strikeouts over 310.2 innings pitched in 214 games.

 

Muhammad is expected to join the team and be activated during the series against the Long Island Ducks in Central Islip this weekend.
