Pro Wrestling Staying Alive: Impact Wrestling Reaches Deal With AXS TV by Daniel Yanofsky September 12, 2019 Through every hardship, Impact Wrestling managed to stay afloat. Their recent TV deal with Pursuit proved that. Now, following fan support and a lot of planning, Impact may finally have found the break they were looking for. Impact officially announced that they have reached a deal with AXS TV. Following their Bound For Glory PPV event on October 20 in Chicago, IMPACT! will air weekly on AXS. No specific time or day for the relaunch has been announced yet. Impact will still be simulcasting shows on their official Twitch channel. We could not ask for a better home and are excited by the opportunities to work with Mark Cuban and Anschutz Entertainment Group, our partners in AXS TV, to bolster IMPACT Wrestling’s presence in the market, as we continue to deliver action-packed and innovative weekly programming featuring some of the most athletic and gifted stars in the professional wrestling industry.” This news comes after the report that Anthem purchased a majority interest in AXS TV, with Mark Cuban and AEG working as equity partners. That includes Steve Harvey as one of the people who will be in charge of Anthem’s operations. The main concern will be Impact’s relationship with AXS’ other pro wrestling programs, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Women of Wrestling. This is especially true with the former, who Impact have worked with in the past. Already looking to make changes, it will be interesting to see how Anthem handles the premier programming AXS already offers. Following a questionable future, an entertaining program and a colorful group of characters under a legitimate program has made Impact Wrestling’s future a bright one.
