Sweet 16 For Trenton Thunder!

It took 16 long innings for the Thunder to defeat the Erie Seawolves  9-6 today at the Jerry Uht stadium in Erie. Back to back doubles for the Thunder led to the game winning RBI in the top of the 16th inning. Addison Maruszak added a two run homer for the insurance runs.

The Seawolves took a 5-3 lead into the fifth inning but the Thunder roared back with a Austin Romine double and a Bradley Suttle homerun to right field.  The score would stay that way until the 15th inning when Suttle hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Corban Joesph.

The Seawolves would answer with a run with a base hit by Brandon Douglas scoring Shawn Roof to tie the score at 6 each.

Last Night’s game was postponed due to rain causing the Thunder to split the series with one win each. Fernando Hernandez was credited with the win for the Thunder raising his record to 3-2 for the season.

Thunder Claps

Carlos Silva’s stay with the Thunder was short lived as he was sent up to Wilkes-Barre Scranton yesterday.

The Thunder open a three game series at Waterfront Park starting Friday against the Portland Seadogs.
