Nikki and Brie Bella, famously known as WWE’s The Bella Twins, have introduced their newborn sons and their names to the world on the cover of PEOPLE magazine’s latest issue. Brie is shown holding her son, Buddy Dessert, with Nikki standing next to her holding her son, Matteo Artemovich. Buddy and Matteo were born just one day apart. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Nikki hints at her current post-pregnancy sleep schedule, saying, “I’ve been up since 3 a.m., but this is what I’ve wanted my whole life. The fact that he’s [Matteo] here — I’m just so in love and happy.” Brie adds, “That’s what happens when you’re on an infant schedule. But like Nikki said, the love is just so overpowering that even though you’re tired, that bliss just takes over.” Nikki also tells the magazine that she was originally due for labor on August 6. However, she decided to take her doctors’ advice and headed to their office several days early for an induced labor, due to the potential threat of high blood pressure. Nikki says that her water broke at the office. “Artem [Nikki’s fiancé] and I were so not prepared,” the Dancing with the Stars celebrity admits. “We barely had bags packed. I labored for 22 hours, and I pushed for two hours while wearing a mask because of COVID-19. It was 118 degrees in Phoenix, and our room wouldn’t get colder than 76 degrees, so I was burning hot the whole time.” On the other hand, Brie tells PEOPLE that she was “upset” her twin sister went into labor first. Brie was scheduled to have a caesarean section birth on August 1. The one-time WWE Divas champion explains, “I forgot I make stubborn babies, and they don’t like to come out. When Matteo came out on the 31st, I was like, ‘No matter what, my baby is coming at 9 a.m. tomorrow.’ We didn’t know it was a boy yet.” Matteo is Nikki Bella’s first child with fiancé Artem Chigvintsev, while Buddy is Brie’s second with her husband, WWE wrestler Daniel Bryan.
