The Seton Hall women’s basketball team was back at it again on Saturday, defeating St. Joseph’s University 66-54 to improve to 4-0.

Tiffany Jones posted a huge 16-point, 14-rebound double-double and Tabatha Richardson-Smith scored 21 points to lead The Hall.

In their first road game of the season, the Pirates led by a point after a quarter before opening up a 12-point halftime lead. The Hall pulled ahead by as many as 21 in the third quarter and led by double-digits throughout the second half. Jones’ 14 rebounds were part of a 50-32 edge on the glass for the Pirates

Lubirdia Gordon had a huge day for The Hall with 12 points and seven rebounds while Shakena Richardson led the way with seven assists. For Saint Joseph’s, Sarah Fairbanks led the way with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Head coach Tony Bozzella was thrilled with his teams conditioning.

“My staff deserves a lot of credit for the win. The girls were in great condition, playing four games in eight days is tough but we’ve been able to fight through.”

The Pirates shot 42.9 percent from 3-point range, led by a 4-for-4 performance from Jones and a 5-for-9 effort from Richardson-Smith, who had four in the second quarter.

The Pirates will look to continue their winning streak on Tuesday as they take on UT-Arlington. The game is scheduled to start at 8pm (Eastern).
