Baseball The LA Dodgers are sending Nineteen-Year-old Julio Urias to the Hill Tonight at Citi Field by Staff Post May 27, 2016 USA Today Sports The Los Angeles Dodgers are in New York City this weekend and are starting their three-game series against the New York Mets with 19-year-old, left-hander Julio Urias. The exciting debut has sold out tickets to tonight’s game in Queens, and it’s for a good reason. Urias has dominated at Triple-A Oklahoma City and has been working his way through the Dodgers minor league system since he was 16-years-old. Dodgers scouted Urias in Mexico, when he was only 15-years-old.The Dodgers signed him for $450,000 and have been cautious in bringing him along through the minor leagues. With a fastball regularly reaching into the upper 90s, some believed he should have been pitching in the majors at 17-years-old. The last major league debut from a teenager was Felix Hernandez, which sets a great tone as to what we can expect from the teen. Julio will be one of four teenagers that have made their Major League debut in the last 25-years. The first pitch in tonight’s game will be thrown at 7:10pm EST. Tickets are currently starting at only $14 with hotel rates near Citi Field for fans out of the area starting at just $35. The New York Mets are sending Jacob deGrom (3-1, 3.07ERA) to start the series and the Los Angeles Dodgers will premiere their prospect Julio Urias.
