The Main Event, Episode 28: SB Nation Radio’s Jake Asman on Wilder v. Ortiz II and the state of boxing

The latter half of 2019 has been filled with great boxing fights. Someone who is looking to end his year on a high note is Deontay Wilder. The “Bronze Bomber” is recently coming off of an incredible knockout-win over Dominic Breazeale, and is now set to face Luis Ortiz in a rematch of their classic 2018 bout. That fight will be this Saturday, November 23 from inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With a Tyson Fury rematch on the horizon, Wilder (41-0-1) has a lot to look forward to. That is if he gets a win this weekend, of course. What is his mindset heading into Saturday? Does anyone give Ortiz a chance? On the latest episode of The Main Event, host Dan Yanofsky speaks to fellow Ithaca College alum and SB Nation Radio’s Jake Asman, who is on-site to cover the fight. He hosts a national program called The Main Event from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. ET.

Jake and Dan reminisce about Cortaca inside MetLife Stadium while also breaking down Wilder v. Ortiz II, the state of heavyweight boxing and Floyd Mayweather’s potential return to the ring.
