The Main Event, Episode 32: The Return of Conor McGregor and UFC 246 Preview (Audio)

Controversial. Brash. Rich. Notorious. These are some of the words that can describe Conor McGregor. The last time he was in the octagon he was unfocused. It showed as he got mauled by Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. Now, he returns a new man; motivated, sober and ready to take over the MMA world again.

On the latest episode of The Main Event, host Dan Yanofsky previews McGregor’s (21-4) return fight against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246. The lead up to the fight has been calmer than previous outings; McGregor has not done anything to put the attention on him. Conor needs to prove he still has something left. Some would even say that McGregor’s legacy is on the line in this fight. Can the former UFC Lightweight and Featherweight Champion take down Cerrone (36-13, 1NC), a man who has fought seven times since the start of 2018? In his first main event, can “Cowboy” take advantage of this moment?

Other fights on the card are previewed like an important flyweight bout between Maycee Barber and Roxanne Modafferi, as well as Andre Fili v. Sodiq Yusuff in a featherweight bout. Outside of the main event, the entire card has potential to surprise a lot of people.
