The Main Event, Episode 7 – ESPN+ and FOX deals a major win for the UFC & WWE (Audio)

Dana White and Vince McMahon have worked their way to add major broadcasting deals for the UFC and WWE. Let’s break it all down, shall we?

Two of the largest combat sports promotions in the world got the steal of the century with their latest broadcasting deals. On today’s episode of The Main Event, host Dan Yanofsky breaks it all down.

First, WWE announced a bombshell with the news of a $1 billion deal for FOX to be the new home of SmackDown Live. Thanks to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, the deal is set to begin in 2019. Two huge networks will now host WWE programming. How will this deal affect viewers, especially if a move to Friday is in the works?

Will WWE’s deal with FOX affect the latter’s relationship with the UFC? After announcing a partnership with ESPN Plus for $750 million, the UFC has a lot of options for programming. When their deal with FOX expires, will the UFC be welcomed back with open arms, or will Vince McMahon have slammed the door on that relationship?
