On a cold Wednesday night in the Bronx, the New York Yankees picked up their first win of the 2016 season, defeating the Houston Astros 16-6.

The Yankees seem to have something going up the middle as Starlin Castro and Didi Gregorius have both hit the ground running to start the season.

On Wednesday, Castro was 4-for-5 including his first home run in pinstripes, a three-run shot deep into the bullpen in left-center. Castro would drive in five runs in the win. The second basemen also had a two-run double in the opener on Monday and has now set a Yankees record as the first player to ever drive in seven runs in their first two games in pinstripes.

Not only is Castro producing at the plate, but the 26-year old has been impressive in the field as well.

On Monday, Castro made a spectacular play charging a slow ground ball, scooping it with his glove and shuffling it to first all in one motion. A day later, Castro made another outstanding play ranging far to his left and then firing a strike to Gregorius covering second to record the force out.

Gregorius has also had a great start to the season, hitting the Yankees first home run of 2016 on Tuesday and adding three more hits Wednesday.

The Yankees have a well balanced lineup with Gregorius and Castro in the bottom half and the two look like they could be together for a long time.

Off the field, they seem to be getting along great as well, partaking in multiple commercials together as well as enjoying some golf.

The slick fielding infielders are seemingly on the same page, and for Yankees fans although only two games into the season, the tandem is something to be excited about.
