Thunder Comeback To Win Again!

The Trenton Thunder overcame a 3-1 deficit with three runs in the seventh Inning to defeat the Akron Aeros 4-3. The win raised Trenton’s Overall record to above (.500) (15-14) and earn the Teams fifth win against ten losses on the road.

Craig Heyer started on the hill for the Thunder and other than a rough second inning in which he gave up 2 runs on 3 hits, Heyer pitched well thru six innings. Akron added another run in the fifth to make the score 3-1 Aeros.

The Thunder scoring started in the fifth with a Ray Kruml RBI which chased Aeros starting pitcher Gardener from the game.

In the seventh the Thunder Yadil Mojica led off with a base hit followed by a Addison Maruszak walk. Ray Kruml hit a bloop single and the Thunder had the Bases Loaded. After a Austin Krumm Fielder’s Choice scored Mojica, Austin Romine hit a base hit driving in 2 runs for a 4-3 Thunder Lead.

The seventh inning was also memorable for the Aeros Pitching Coach and Manager getting Tossed from the game for arguing pitch location.

Josh Schmidt and Fernandes combined to shut down the Aeros the rest of the way.
