Thunder Homers Bring A Road Win!

The start of the game was delayed two hours for rain, But home runs by Bradley Suttle and Addison Maruszak along with a key ninth inning triple by hot hitting Corban Joseph powered the Thunder to a ninth inning rally and 7-4 Win.

Shaeffer Hall pitched 6 1/3 solid innings but did not factor in the decision. Cory Arbiso relieved Hall in the Seventh Inning and picked up the win Raising his record to 2-1 on the season.  Akron started with Carlos Carrasco on the hill who is on a rehab stint from the Cleveland Indians. Carrasco was touched for 4 runs on four hits with three walks before being lifted.

Akron who got half their runs on back to back errors by SS Jose Pirela in the eighth inning to tie the game at 4-4. Corban Joseph hit is game winning triple in the ninth inning to extend his hitting streak to 17 games which is the longest in the Eastern League this season so far. Maruszak hit his two run homer for the final score in the ninth.

Thunder Claps- Dan Brewer was called up to Scranton-Wilkes Barre after spending 10 games with the Thunder.

OF Damon Sublett was activated from the Disabled List

Last Night’s win was only the Thunder’s  4th Road win this year.

Akron pitcher Carlos Carrasco was one of the players involved in the Cliff Lee trade with the Philadelphia Phillies
