Thunder Leaves Portland In Fog!

The Trenton Thunder won their eighth straight victory in a fog shortened game 4-2 last night. After a thirty minute delay the game was called in the bottom of seventh due to the thick fog engulfing Hadlock Field in Portland.

Once again the Thunder relied on timely hitting and strong pitching to secure another victory. This time the Thunder got pitcher Manny Banuelos (2-0, 2.16) some early runs to help him get a win. With Jose Pirela on second base in the second inning Damon Sublett drove a triple over the Seadogs centerfielders head driving Pirela home.

Still in the second inning Seadogs pitcher Stolmy Pimental (0-7, 7.04) uncorked a wild pitch scoring Sublett.  That gave Trenton a 2-0 lead.

With the Seadogs getting a couple runs and cutting the Thunder lead to 3-2 the fog started to roll in and after a thirty-minute delay the teams resumed play.

In the seventh inning and the score still 3-2 Thunder, with two outs Ray Kruml on second base Austin Romine smacked a double to right centerfield to secure the final 4-2 score.

Manny Banuelos pitched another strong game going five innings and only giving up two runs, Pitcher Grant Duff got the save and was still on the hill when the fog set in.
