Thunder Pass Senators Behind Mujica's 4 RBI

 The Trenton Thunder ( 39-25 ) defeated the Harrisburg Senators ( 34-28 ) 7-3 Tuesday night in the opening game of a three game set behind Yadil Mujica’s 4 RBI’s. Thunder starting pitcher   Shaeffer Hall (6-3,3.92) kept the Senators at bay with a strong six inning outing holding the Senators to just two runs.

The win enabled the Thunder to stay in first place in the Eastern Division and it also was Hall’s sixth win of the season. The Thunder also improved their record to 25-9 for this season at the friendly confines of Waterfront Park’

Trenton was trailing early in the second inning 1-0 when DeAngelo Mack and Jose Pirela singled coupled with a Addison Maruszak walk loaded the bases for a Yadil Mujica single that scored two runs giving the Thunder a 2-1 lead.

In the top of the fourth inning the Senators loaded the bases with none out and Hall was able to keep the opposition to one run scored to tie the game at 2-2. The Thunder blew the game wide open with a five run seventh inning to make the score 7-2 in favor of the home team. Trenton brought ten men to the plate and Yadil Mujica had a two run double for the big hit of the inning.

Relievers Naoya Okamato and Wilkins Arias combined to hold the Senators to just one run the rest of the way to secure the victory for the Thunder. The second game of the set is tonite at 7:05 pm at Waterfront Park, The Thunder will send Dellin Betances to the hill looking to win another series.

RHP Brad Halsey was promoted from Single- A Tampa to the Thunder leaving the team one man under the 24 man roster limit.

RHP Jason Schimdt was promoted to Triple A Scranton from the Thunder leaving the team 2 men under the 24 man roster limit.
