Thunder Wins Fourth Straight Series

The Trenton Thunder won the third straight series with a 4-2 victory over the Reading Phillies with the same as the previous two series,  Strong pitching and Timely hitting. On a cool night at Waterfront Park and the stands filled with Phillie jerseys and shirts and hats. The Trenton Thunder sent those home disappointed with a good performance by Manny Banuelos after a somewhat shaky start after struggling with his location early on.

The Thunder took advantage of some poor fielding by the Reading squad in the first when a misjudged flyball allowed an early one run lead.

Another Reading fielding miscue on a routine ground ball to short allowed Trenton to take a 3-1 lead in the second inning. Cody Johnson’s solo Home Run in the third pushed the Trenton lead to 4-2 in the third inning.

The Thunder pitching staff shut down Reading the rest of the way to preserve The Thunder victory.

The Thunder go for the series sweep tonight at Waterfront Park @ 7:05 pm.
