For rookies, the dream of playing in the NFL is one that was birthed from the pee wee league and pop warner days. To make it to draft day is a dream come true and to sign, well now that is just breathtaking. Caught up in the moment of being drafted and signing a contract is just the beginning of hard work. Once a contract has been signed or renewed, the real work begins The New York Giants didn’t take much time making the decision to resign tight-end Daniel Fells. Fells was a free agent; who expressed very much wanting to return to the Giants. Although sometimes agreements tend to take some time, Fells knew without a doubt he wanted to sign his contract as soon as possible. He was so adamant about doing so, he hopped a redeye from San Francisco to Newark, handled business and headed back to California right after. Fells is very excited to be with the Giants. Fells, an eight-year veteran, came to join the Giants last year after missing the 2013 season. He played in all 16 games in which he started nine, and caught 16 passes for 188 yards and a career high four touchdowns. Fells came to the NFL as a free agent rookie free agent with the Atlanta Falcons in 2006. He also played for St Louis, Denver, and New England. August 30, 2013 the dream ended when the Patriots released him. The dream of playing again was born again when the Giants signed him on January 7, 2014. “I’m excited to be here,” Fells said. “There’s no place I’d rather be.” With an exciting season coming, Giants fans are building momentum waiting to see what will happen next.
