After a week of impressive play, Team Sinclair has won the USA Women’s National Curling Championship by defeating Team Roth 6-4. Sinclair, with the help of her teammates Monica Walker, Vicky Persinger, and Alexandra Carlson threw an impressive shot in the ninth end to secure a path to victory. This was the first National Championship Title for Skip Jamie Sinclair.

The road to the championship for Team Sinclair was paved with an automatic berth into the championship match after finishing as the top seed with a 6-1 record in round robin play.  Meanwhile, Team Roth also had an impressive path to the championship match. With a win in the semi-final match against Team Potter, Team Roth secured not only a chance to face off against Team Sinclair for the right to be national champion but also the honor of representing the United States in the upcoming World Women’s Championship in Beijing, China this March.

The team that represents the United States at the World Championships is determined by a season-long point tally. Team Roth was the top ranked U.S. women’s team entering the tournament and the 19th top ranked team by World Curling Tour. Congrats to Team Sinclair for beating such a formidable opponent, and keep an eye on Team Roth from March 17th-25th as they represent the US at the World Curling Championships.
