UFC adds Zabit Magomedsharipov v. Kyle Bochniak to UFC 223

Another fight between two contenders added to UFC 223

If there was a theme that UFC 223 represented, it would be the power of the punch. Another big man matchup was set for the UFC’s return to Brooklyn in Zabit Magomedsharipov v. Kyle Bochniak. The two will fight in a featherweight bout.

It has taken a while for the 26-year old Magomedsharipov (14-1) to find an opponent, especially for UFC 223. The Dagestani has won ten fights in a row. His last two victories over Sheymon Moraes and Mike Santiago have come via submission. Zabit is almost even in his victories, with six finishes via submission and six via KO. He’s been fighting out of New Jersey for quite some time, so he may have a strong following when he arrives in Brooklyn.

The one to answer his challenge is Kyle Bochniak (8-2), who is 2-2 in his last four fights. He will look to go on a winning streak of his own after he beat Brandon Davis at UFC 220.

UFC 223 takes place on April 7th inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The main event features a Lightweight Championship bout between Tony Ferguson and challenger Khabib Nurmagomedov. The co-main event features Rose Namajunas defending her Strawweight Title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
