Basketball UFC Senior VP of Public Relations Heading to Philadelphia 76ers by Kristine Haugsjaa October 17, 2016 Another longtime executive of the promotion will be leaving before the year is up. Dave Sholler, UFC Senior Vice President of Public Relations and Athlete Marketing and Development, has decided to head back to his home state of New Jersey to manage the business and sporting side of communications for the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers. Sholler’s last event with the promotion will be UFC 205 in New York City on November 12th. UFC President Dana White made the announcement Wednesday night on FS1’s TUF Talk. Shortly after breaking the news, Sholler confirmed the announcement on his personal twitter account. “As Dana just announced on @FS1, I’m heading home. I’ve accepted a job w/ my hometown team, the @Sixers. This has been the ride of a lifetime” “It’s time to go home, to the organization I grew up rooting for. Will miss fight game very, very much, but excited for the new challenge.” — Dave Sholler (@DaveSholler) After the shocking news spread through social media, countless WEC/UFC fighters, both past and present, along with members of the media sent congratulatory tweets and praise towards the PR exec, many reminiscing of the Jon Jones/Daniel Cormier presser brawl that Sholler found himself during a UFC 178 face-off.
