NEWS Undefeated Heavyweight Efe Ajagba Signs with Top Rank Boxing Top Rank is known for promoting world class fighters such as Muhammad Ali, Oscar De La Hoya, George Foreman, Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Tyson Fury. by Candace Cordelia August 5, 2020 Efe Ajagba not only has killer instincts in the boxing ring, but also in the boxing business. The undefeated professional heavyweight has signed with Top Rank Incorporated — one of the world’s premier boxing promotions. Top Rank is known for promoting world class fighters such as Muhammad Ali, Oscar De La Hoya, George Foreman, Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Tyson Fury. In a statement, 26-year-old Ajagba says of his choice to sign with Top Rank, “I made this decision to become a better boxer and to advance my career.” “When I return to the ring soon, you will see a new Efe Ajagba,” he adds. Top Rank chairman Bob Arum states, “Efe Ajagba is one of the most gifted young heavyweights I’ve seen in quite some time. He has immense physical tools and a great work ethic. I have the utmost confidence that we’re looking at a future heavyweight champion.” Ajagba, who is a former soccer player, turned pro as a boxer in 2017. His career as a boxer includes winning a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and a gold medal at the 2015 African Games. The Nigerian-born fighter is described as having a 6’6″ with 240-plus pound frame and a natural puncher. Six-first round knockouts and currently holding the record for the fastest victory in boxing history are also key notches on Ajagba’s glittering boxing resume.
