Soccer Union Finally Win, Take Down NYCFC 2-1 by Jayson Love April 12, 2015 from: wefollowfutbol.com Chester, PA – The Philadelphia Union entered last night’s game with NYCFC winless, and in last place in the MLS Eastern Conference. They rebounded from being stunned in stoppage time last weekend to do the same to NYCFC. Philadelphia got off to a quick start when Zach Pfeffer took Eric Ayuk Mbu’s low cross and touched it past NYC’s keeper John Saunders to get the Union off to a 1-0 lead. The Union held the advantage until the 55th minute when David Villa made a nifty move in the box to shake the Union back-line and deftly put it into the net to knot things at 1. The game stayed 1-1 through the 90th minute and into stoppage time. In the second minute of time added on, Vincent Nogueira found a rebound in the center of the box. Noguera fired a low shot into the center of the goal and the Union were on their way to victory in front of the Sons of Ben. Conor Casey seemed to get away with contact with the keeper in an offside position that made stopping Noguer’s drive impossible for Saunders, but arguably, this team deserved a break. The Union added 3 points to their total now sit on 5 points and vaulted all the way up to 5th place in the Eastern table.
