Things wouldn’t get better for Costa Rica as the second half would be dominated by the U.S. Their best chance was a header Bryan Ruiz sent in that hit the post.

Graham Zusi extended the United States lead with a shot in the 87th minute. U.S. goaltender Brad Guzan was also able to complete the shutout.

Columbia can thank goalkeeper David Ospina for his stellar performance as Paraguay pressed in the second half.
