The New York Rangers got a big win Tuesday night against a tough opponent in the Anaheim Ducks, by the final score of 4-1. When the whistle blew head coach Alain Vigneault became the newest member of the 600 win club!

Just a little over a week after receiving a contract extension and a pay raise from the Rangers Vigneault made history by becoming the second youngest Head Coach to reach 600 wins, after the one and only Scotty Bowman.

Vigneault, who spent his entire head coaching career in Canada before joining the Rangers, now ranks fourth all time with the Blueshirts in win and his tenure has included a division title, a President’s Trophy, and an Eastern Conference Championship and trip to the Stanley Cup Final, the second in his illustrious coaching career.

Not to be out done however, Henrik Lundqvist’s win (and 43 saves to boot) puts him at 398 wins for his career, inching ever closer to that special 400 mark.

Vigneault will have a chance at 601 and Lundqvist a chance at 399 when the Rangers take on the Nashville Predators on Thursday night at MSG.
