What can WWE fans expect to see at Fastlane PPV?

This Sunday is the midway point to WrestleMania 32. WWE’s Fastlane PPV is the ultimate appetizer to get you settled into the big night at AT&T Stadium on April 3rd. A very interesting card is taking place, with a few matches having a lot on the line. Some consider this PPV a waste. I see this as an opportunity for various outcomes.

If you want some Fastlane predictions, give me a hell yeah…..No? Still? OK then. Here we go:

Pre-show: WWE United States Championship- Two-out-of-Three Falls
Kalisto (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio

In a surprising twist, this potentially great match  is relegated to the pre-show. Personally I would have loved for this to be put onto the main card to replace a specific match (I’ll get to that later). This match could truly be a coming out party for Kalisto as a singles star with WWE. While Del Rio has been stuck in creative limbo since his return to the company, he is known to produce great matches when needed. I’m hoping for this to get an extended period of time, as both of these men’s Lucha styles could be put on display here. The champion will retain, and will hopefully move on to a new challenger.

Winner: Kalisto

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

After months of battling Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens finally has HIS Intercontinental Title back. KO’s first defense as a 2x champ will be against his recent rival in Dolph Ziggler. Both men have traded wins with one another and are looking to end their short feud. While nobody is quite sure what Kevin Owens will be doing for WrestleMania, it is sure to be something big. Just coming off of a title victory, there can only be one true outcome: Retain Owens Retain!

Winner: Kevin Owens

Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch vs. Naomi and Tamina
The former BFF’s have reunited after Sasha had a falling out with Team B.A.D. There are rumors that Sasha and/or Becky will be involved in the Women’s (Divas) Title scene at WrestleMania. Sasha is a fantastic heel that will definitely look to play mind games with Becky. Their opponents can actually put on competent matches. As fans, all we can do is hope that all of their talent will be put on display. I expect the Lass Kicker and The Boss to win, along with the latter attacking Becky after the match. The rise of Sasha Banks in WWE begins this Sunday.

Winner: Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch

Kane, Big Show and Ryback vs. The Wyatt Family (With Bray Wyatt)

This is the match I believe should have been on the pre-show instead of Kalisto vs. Alberto Del Rio. While the company is trying to give the Wyatt’s momentum for WrestleMania, this might not be the best way to do it. This won’t be very pretty. The only true star that will come out of this match is Luke Harper. WWE’s attempted push of making Braun Strowman into the next big thing will somehow be highlighted during the match as well. The Wyatt’s should get the win, with their sites then set on a certain beast (incarnate).

Winner: The Wyatt Family

WWE Women’s (Diva’s) Championship
Charlotte (c) (With Ric Flair) vs. Brie Bella

Before her husband Daniel Bryan announced his retirement, Brie won a match over the Women’s (Divas) Champion. This is a very good opportunity for Brie, who has somewhat improved in the ring since her sister Nikki has been out due to injury. Charlotte has perfected her heel persona lately. Her father, The Nature Boy Ric Flair, has also been entertaining as her mentor. I see Charlotte retaining, setting up a possible NXT Alumni match at WrestleMania. Woooo!

Winner: Charlotte

A.J. Styles vs. Chris Jericho

It is so great to write A.J.’s name on a WWE PPV preview. After arriving at the Royal Rumble, A.J. has looked to make an impact in WWE. His first opponent with the company was Jericho, a solid match in which he was victorious. Y2J won the rematch, tying the series 1-1. While I would love these two to fight at WrestleMania, this might be the best way to make The Phenomenal One popular with fans. It could also give him a lot of momentum heading into WrestleMania if he wins. While getting up in age, Jericho has always performed excellent matches with young/new talent to put them over. I have a feeling The Miz, who recently has had issues with both men, will somehow get involved. That shouldn’t alter the results of the match though. The Phenomenal One should win this bout, which has potential to be a show-stealer. What would be great is if it somehow ended in a tie, setting up the blow-out at WrestleMania. A man can dream.

Winner: A.J. Styles

Triple Threat #1 Contenders Match
Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose

The winner of the match faces WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H at the main event at Cowboys Stadium. There are various ways this match could go. Storyline wise, Reigns should win this match, resulting in the underdog story WWE has been trying to promote Roman with. It would be very cool if Lesnar won the match. While he would most likely be dominating the entire thing, there are rumors he will face a member of the Wyatt Family at WrestleMania. I still expect him to be awesome and destroy everything. A real wild card conclusion would be for Dean Ambrose to win. That would be awesome, as it would finally cement Dean as a main event player in WWE. I’m sticking with my gut and picking Reigns to win. The story has been set for months for him to get his moment. Believe that, whether we like it or not.

Winner: Roman Reigns

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that The New Day, the WWE Tag Team Champions, were not in a match. What a shame. We will however see them in a segment with Edge and Christian. That will either reek of awesomeness or be total booty. As always, NEW…DAY ROCKS!
