While announcing the first match for WWE Evolution, WWE may have spoiled the results of a SummerSlam match

One match is official for WWE Evolution, but something about it may change after SummerSlam

In order to sell tickets for WWE Evolution, the companies all-female PPV, WWE needed to book some huge matches. Thanks to a potential botch on their production side, we have our first bout confirmed.

After NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn last night, WWE announced that Trish Stratus will be making her return to the ring to face Alexa Bliss. What a very interesting matchup. While everyone expected Stratus to face Sasha Banks, especially after their interaction at the Royal Rumble this year, this match can still deliver, especially with a motivated Alexa.

Bliss is a five-time Women’s Champion, while Stratus has won the original Women’s Championship seven different times. This will be Trish’s first singles match since 2011, after originally retiring in 2006. Ring rust need not apply when it comes to Trish Stratus, as she has shown she can still grapple with the best of them.

The news may come with a catch. As stated in the title, WWE may have spoiled a major match taking place at SummerSlam with this announcement. On their official site, Alexa Bliss still holds the RAW Women’s Championship. I can confirm (being at NXT TakeOver last night and all) that Bliss did NOT have her title on her in the leaked graphic before TakeOver officially began. You can check out that photo here.

What does this mean? Is this a guarantee that Ronda Rousey will beat Bliss for the title? Was it WWE trolling fans in attendance in order to get people guessing? Either way, it might make more eyes tune into the match between Bliss and Rousey.

WWE Evolution takes place on October 28 at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, NY. Ticket information has not been released yet.
