Behind Jay Bruce’s second home run of the night, the Mets beat the Phillies 4-3 on Monday at Citizen’s Park. Matt Harvey looked good in his first start since his surgery which gives fans hopes that he can get the job done again tonight. The Mets are listed at -138 vs the Phillies +128, so it looks like oddsmakers are swaying for New York; check out the MLB lines at SkyBook. What: New York Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies When: Tuesday, April 11, 2017 7:05 PM ET Where: Citizens Bank Park Moneyline: Mets -138 vs Phillies +128 Over/Under: 8.5 Listed Pitchers: NYM M Harvey – PHI C Buchholz Betting on the Mets The Mets got back to .500 after winning the finale of a three game set at home against the Marlins last weekend. And, last night after walking Asdrubal Cabrera in the eight inning of a tied game, Phillies’ pitcher Edubray Ramos’ worst nightmare came to life when Jay Bruce hit a two-run game-winning homer against lefty Joely Rodriguez. Bruce carried the Mets to victory, first hitting it out of the park in the fourth against Jerad Eickhoff and then tying the game in the seventh, scoring off a Neil Walker sacrifice fly. Jacob deGrom kept his composure after a shaky start which got him into hot water in the bottom of the first and allowed only two runs to score before the end of the inning. In total, he threw for six innings and didn’t allow any more runs. Matt Harvey gets the nod tonight in his second start of the year at 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA and a 0.450 WHIP this season. Harvey makes his 10th career start against the Phillies in this game and looks to build on his success. He is 6-2 with a 2.65 ERA and a 0.919 WHIP over 57.2 innings of work. The Mets’ offense is finally picking up steam after scoring nine runs over their last two games. If the sluggers can keep at it, they’ll improve a decent 4-3 start of the season. Asdrubal Cabrera leads the Mets with eight hits and two RBI while Jay Bruce and Curtis Granderson have combined for 12 hits and eight RBI. Betting on the Phillies Philadelphia will look towards getting back to .500 with a win tonight. However, they’ll need to pick themselves up after allowing the Mets to clock them with four runs; the Phillies have lost nine straight games when allowing more than three runs, so their batters will have to work extra hard tonight. Philadelphia won two straight over the Nationals over the weekend, blowing them out on Saturday, but just barely getting through on Sunday. Clay Buchholz takes the mound in his second start as a Philly and carries a 7.20 ERA and 2.00 WHIP on the year. Hist first start was a no-decision against Cincinnati on the road. He allowed four runs on eight hist and two walks with seven strikeouts that ended in a Phillies loss 7-4. Howie Kendrick leads the Phillies with 10 hits and five RBI while Odubel Herrera and Cesar Hernandez have combined for 17 hits and six RBI.
