Pro Wrestling WWE signs another major star in Shinsuke Nakamura by Daniel Yanofsky January 29, 2016 Over the past few weeks, an influx of talent has arrived at WWE’s door with open arms. It was previously reported that the company signed A.J. Styles and Austin Aries, two big names in the wrestling industry. Now it appears that WWE is getting the best international talent out there. It was announced by WWE’s NXT brand during a TV taping that they have officially signed New Japan Pro Wrestling star Shinsuke Nakamura. httpss://twitter.com/WWENXT/status/692517216227594240 Nakamura is a seasoned veteran, performing with New Japan Pro Wrestling since 2002. He is a three-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion and a five-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion. The “King of Strong Style” is the youngest IWGP Heavyweight Champion in history, winning the title when he was 23 years old. If you want a great look at who Shinsuke Nakamura is, check out his match at Wrestle Kingdom 10 against new WWE superstar A.J. Styles. That match was heralded as a classic. httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdvNauAOXy0 In an article posted on WWE.com, the company had the following to say about Nakamura: “Renowned for his striking and submission ability, as well as his unorthodox charisma, Nakamura’s devastating Bomaye knee strike has felled many opponents and his smash mouth style has earned him the nickname The King of Strong Style.” It has been reported that Nakamura will face NXT star Sami Zayn two days before WrestleMania 32 at the NXT TakeOver: Dallas special on April 1st. The event will be at the Kay Bailey Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. That could be a great battle, as Zayn is known to never disappoint during high profile matches. He is the perfect opponent to welcome Nakamura into WWE. He may become a regular on NXT until his eventual call-up to the main roster. That will give him enough time to be accustomed to WWE’s schedule and work style. With this move, WWE has truly shaken the foundation of the wrestling industry. Nobody thought they would see the day when stars like Styles, Aries and Nakamura would head to WWE. To sign the amount of high-caliber talent that they have shows how much power WWE has. Where will Nakamura fit whenever he gets brought up to the main roster? Will he fight his old nemesis A.J. Styles or rekindle his feud with Kevin Owens? Only time will tell what WWE’s brass has in store for him. With all of the injuries happening to the main roster, he may rise up in the ranks sooner rather than later.
