Dear Yankee Fans,

Hey, guys. You told them what you wanted, and they listened. If only everything in life was this easy!

No, but really. No longer are the days where you head to the ballpark, where you’re confined to your comfortable enough seat (or bleacher), where you grab a beer and a hot dog (this may be ideal ballgame food for you and that’s okay, you can still dine that way in 2017 if you choose), and where you sit at a long baseball game with a battery-dead smart phone and (possibly) an antsy child.

The times are a-changing! Hey, you can even get into the game, with a ticket, and not even have any seat assigned to you! That’s how confident the Yankee’s organization is with their 2017 stadium enhancements.

Let’s talk about that first. How can you get into the park, but not have a “seat”? What does that even mean?! This is my favorite of all the changes that have been made. These are single game tickets, obviously there will be a limited number, and quantities of tickets per game will vary, but, the value-priced tickets have arrived!

The Pinstripe Pass ticket, starting at $15 for select games, will allow fans to enjoy the game from non-assigned standing room locations throughout the stadium, or at one of the new social gathering spots that are making their debut April 10 for the 2017 NY Yankees home opener vs. the Tampa Bay Rays (we’ll go over all the details of those areas in a bit). Get this, though. Yes, the Pinstripe is general admission, but the ticket price includes ONE DRINK! If you’re over 21, you can get a 12-oz. domestic beer with ID, but for the non-drinkers and under-21 crowd, you can get a Pepsi product or a bottle of Poland Spring water. There will also be $10 Grandstand Level tickets (does not include a drink). Those ticket quantities will also vary per game and are available in select Grandstand locations. How amazing is this?!

Now, the stadium social gathering enhancements! We all go to games because, well, we love baseball, but we know that games would not be as fun without our family and friends. Let’s start with the removal of the obstructed-view bleacher seats. Those are gone. In comes two bullpen terraces, the Frank’s RedHot Terrace overlooking the visitors bullpen and the Toyota Terrace overlooking the Yankees bullpen. These are located on the 100 level, offer full field views of the stadium, have drink-rail areas complete with USB/power outlets, and each terrace features its own food and drink specialties. Also on the 100 level is the AT&T Sports Lounge, which features big-screen TV’s (DirecTV service) tuned into the Yankees broadcast as well as other live sports happening at that moment. Fan of another baseball team as well as the Yankees? Their game will more than likely be on as well in this sports bar atmosphere of a lounge in the heart of the stadium. Here there will be craft beers, cocktails, an array of cuisine options, and USB/power outlets to charge your phones (now that your phone is dead after Instagramming too much since your arrival to the game).  

Next up are the decks; we have the Masterpass Batter’s Eye Deck on the 200 level with a 3,500-sq. foot area offering a full, sweeping view of the Stadium, craft beers, cocktails, and many food items. For the party people, we have the Budweiser Party Decks on the 300 level which provide some shaded areas complementing the relaxed and casual atmosphere where you can enjoy views of the action on field. Beer, cocktails, and food will be available at the two party decks.

Last, but not least, the very first kid’s area in Yankee Stadium; the Sunrun Kid’s Clubhouse. This 2,850-sq. foot area allows for a children’s only space shaped as a miniature baseball field with a soft surface. There are interactive exhibits, photo opportunities, a larger than life World Series trophy replica, baseballs, and bats. There is a dugout area for parents to watch their children, and they won’t miss the game action as there will be TV monitors showing what’s happening just on the field. If your child needs to release some energy mid-game, this deck, with a retractable roof to offer shade on the hot days, will offer the perfect solution.

Doug Behar, Senior Vice President, Stadium Operations, “We’re excited about all these spaces. They are unique in their own right. We have the Sunrun Kid’s Clubhouse where toddlers can go and play, burn off some energy during the course of a three hour plus baseball game. We have a lot of social gathering places, as you see, and we’re really excited about all those spaces where folks can meet new people, meet their friends, and engage in those spaces. We’re excited to see that, as this game, and how we watch this game has evolved.”

There is a plethora of new food options all throughout the stadium! Mighty Quinn’s, Lobel’s, Jersey Mike’s, Bare Burger, and Ben and Jerry’s will bring their famous fare to the Stadium. New York’s own Blue Point Brewing Company will be featured at various stands and bars around the field. Combined with the experts at Legends Hospitality, you will not leave the Stadium hungry or thirsty. For those interested in healthier and gluten-free fare, you will have options as well!

Guys, they will be pulling fresh mozzarella this season. Come on! Yum!
