Yankees Activate Alex Rodriguez From 15-day disabled list

MLB: Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees

The New York Yankees have activated designated hitter Alex Rodriguez from the 15-day disabled list before Thursday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Rodriguez had been on the DL since May 4 with a strained hamstring. Following two rehab games with the Yankees Double-A affiliate Trenton Thunder, Rodriguez is back in the lineup batting fifth.

As the corresponding move, the Yankees sent down infielder Rob Refsnyder and have placed left-handed pitcher Chasen Shreve on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder issues.

Shreve has undergone tests and is waiting for diagnosis.

Rodriguez was 3-for-6 with a home run in his two rehab games and is hitting .190 with five home runs with the Yankees this season.
