The new Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets are one step closer to becoming an official team. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are asking for fans to vote on the name of their new mascot. You can cast your vote at www.bingrp.com until April 3rd.

The names to choose from are the following:

Bing

Buster

Ross

Rowdy

Rumbleton

Fans can vote an unlimited number of times until the deadline. The winning name will be unveiled at the Meet the Ponies Dinner at the Holiday Inn Downtown Binghamton. The dinner will be April 4th. It is not a closed event, and fans can purchase tickets to the historic event. The way to do that is by visiting the NYSEG Stadium box office or by calling (607) 722-FUNN.

The team was called the Binghamton Mets for years, before the name was changed this year to the Rumble Ponies. Adding a mascot can help solidify the team after a big transition.

Go on out and vote before its too late! The teams season starts on April 6th against New Hampshire. You might see the new mascot on April 13th when the Rumble Ponies are home against Erie.
