USA Hockey on Tuesday announced the roster for the USA Women’s National Team that will compete at the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship in Plymouth, Michigan.

The tournament scheduled for March 31 and run through April 7, at the USA Hockey Arena in the Detroit suburb of Plymouth will feature 17 of the 23 members from the squad that captured the gold at the 2016 IIHF Women’s World Championship. 13 members of the team won the silver at the 2014 Sochi Olympics and 12 are on rosters of the Founding Four teams of the National Women’s Hockey League.

With 12 states being represented amongst the roster, Minnesota leads the way with five players, followed by Massachusetts with four, Wisconsin with three as Illinois and North Dakota have two players each. Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Idaho, Vermont, Ohio and New York each have one player on the roster.

Between the pipes, Team USA will be represented by; Nicole Hensley (Lakewood, CO), Alex Rigby (Delafield, WI) and Maddie Rooney (Andover, MN). Patrolling the blue line, will be Kasey Bellamy (Westfield, MA), Megan Bozek (Buffalo Grove, IL), Kali Flanagan (Burlington, MA), Megan Keller (Farmington, MI), Monique Lamoureux-Morando (Grand Forks, ND), Emily Pfalzer (Getzville, NY) and Lee Stecklein (Roseville, MN).

Up front Team USA will have Hannah Brandt (Vadnais Heights, MN), Alex Carpenter (North Reading, MA), Kendall Coyne (Palos Heights, IL), Brianna Decker (Dousman, WI), Megan Duggan (Danvers, MA), Amanda Kessel (Madison, WI), Hilary Knight (Sin Valley, ID), Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson (Grand Forks, ND), Gigi Marvin (Warroad, MN), Kelly Pannek (Plymouth, MN), Amanda Pelkey (Montpelier, VT), Haley Skarupa (Rockville, MD) and Kelli Stack (Brooklyn Heights, OH).

Kessel spent the 2016-2017 season with the New York Riveters of the NWHL. Skarupa and Stack are members of the Riveters nearest rival, the Connecticut Whale. The NWHL has Pfalzer and Bozek representing the Buffalo Beauts, as the Boston Pride have seven members (Bellamy, Carpenter, Decker, Duggan, Knight, Marvin & Pelkey) on the roster.

Reagan Carey will serve as the general manager for Team USA as former National Hockey League player, Robb Stauber will serve as the bench boss. Rounding out Stauber’s coaching staff will include; Brett Strot (Associate Coach), Chris Tamer (Assistant Coach), Paul Mara (Assistant Coach) and former New York Ranger goaltender, Mike Richter (Goalie Coach).
