The Liberty rallied from a 15 point second half hole, to beat the Indiana Fever 85-84 on Friday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Indiana built a 49-43 lead at the half but could not maintain its advantage. New York trimmed the deficit to 70-67 entering the fourth quarter and outscored the Fever 18-14 in the final ten minutes. Grinding Out a Win The Liberty were down two, 82-80, with fewer than 90 seconds to play when Bria Hartley nailed a 3-pointer, her 3rd of the game, to put New York back on top. Following a defensive stop that featured a critical block from Kiah Stokes, the Liberty iced the game with a pair of Sugar Rodgers free throws at the other end. The Liberty went 29-for-65 and shot at a rate of 44.6 percent including a 43.8 percent rate for three-point shots. The Liberty were able to win the battle of the boards 37-21 with Stokes coming off the bench to grab ten rebounds in 23 minutes. Tina Charles Continues To Dominate The WNBA All-Star shot 10-for-19 for the game and also dished out four assists. Bria Hartley scored 17 points including a 3-for-3 performance from downtown, while Shavonte Zellous had 11 points, six rebounds, and five assists in the victory. Keeping Pace In The East With Friday’s win, the New York Liberty are now 11-10 overall and 4-6 on the road. The team is surprisingly just 1.5 games behind the Connecticut Sun and Washington Mystics for the Eastern standings lead. What’s Next For The Liberty?
