The draft is fast approaching. Now that Free Agency has settled and signings are no longer coming in a frenzy, it is time to take a better look at the draft. Teams have addressed needs so now they will look to the cheaper and younger option of NFL prospects.

Here were go…

1. Cleveland Browns – Myles Garrett – DE, Texas A&M

• Nothing changes here, Garrett is a beast and a franchise defensive player. Browns cannot miss out on him.

2. San Francisco 49ers – Solomon Thomas – DE, Stanford

• Thomas’ value has shot up after the combine. The Niners need a nice piece on their defensive front as they are in a total rebuild. They should probably wait on a quarterback unless they are in love with a prospect. Later rounds should provide developmental guys or 2018 will bring Sam Darnold or Josh Rosen.

3. Chicago Bears – Jamal Adams – S, LSU

• Mike Glennon is in town now and still young so I don’t see the Bears going for a quarterback this high. Take Adams to fix the secondary.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars – Leonard Fournette – RB, LSU

• Jaguars still need some star power on their young offense. Fournette is a game changer and could immensely help Blake Bortles get back on track by easing some of the pressure.

5. Tennessee Titans – Marshon Lattimore – DB, Ohio State

• Simply put, Lattimore is a ball hawk and will immediately fit the need the Titans have at their weak secondary. It also helps they can take him high as they have two first round picks.

6. New York Jets – DeShaun Watson – QB, Clemson

• Another quarterback for the Jets? He must be doomed. In all seriousness, Watson is the guy here. He plays well in the clutch, put up great stats in college and is a total class act and professional. He doesn’t even need to start right away as the Jets are still not close to being contenders and have Josh McCown at the moment to start and mentor Watson coming in.

7. Los Angeles Chargers – Malik Hooker – DB, Ohio State

• The Chargers need secondary help especially with the release of Brandon Flowers. Lets see if Gus Bradley looks good again as a defensive coordinator and tries to bring out the Seattle in him.

8. Carolina Panthers – Derek Barnett – DL, Tennessee

• Panthers need to shore up the defensive line. Barnett is their guy as they need to get back to playing physically defense to keep Cam Newton and company from having to score over 30 points at minimum to stay in a close game.

9. Cincinnati Bengals – Reuben Foster – LB, Alabama

• I had Foster falling in my previous mock, not anymore. He was always a beast and teams will look past him getting dismissed from the combine. Isn’t it ironic the Bengals could sweep him up?

10. Buffalo Bills – Mike Williams – WR, Clemson

• Why not pair one Clemson receiver with another? As long as Sammy Watkins is healthy, I love this deadly combo of him and Williams. I get Andre Holmes and Corey “Philly” Brown were signed, but come on…they don’t measure up to Williams

11. New Orleans Saints – Jonathan Allen – DE, Alabama

• Allen falls just outside the top 10 but now the Saints have two first round picks. I like them taking Allen here and going offense later.

12. Cleveland Browns – Mitchell Trubisky – QB,

• With Watson off the board, the Browns “settle” for Trubisky. I still love his size and athleticism and he will have time to develop with head coach Hue Jackson and a rebuilding Browns squad.

13. Arizona Cardinals – Deshone Kizer – QB, Notre Dame

• May be a surprise, but the Cardinals need to look toward the future. How much more can they ask out of Carson Palmer? Age and injuries are catching up with Palmer and a year removed from falling one game short of the Super Bowl, the Cardinals lacked offensive firepower. Kizer is the future in Arizona.

14. Philadelphia Eagles – Dalvin Cook – RB, Florida State

• Sidney Jones would have been the pick here after the Eagles signings of Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith at receiver, but he tore his Achilles. Sticking with offense here, Cook makes sense as the franchise back and the Eagles can address corner and receiver in the next two rounds.

15. Indianapolis Colts – Forrest Lamp – OL, Western Kentucky

• Lamp makes more sense than Cam Robinson as I had in my previous mock. Robinson is going to fall and Lamp is more versatile. He can play tackle or guard and is arguably the best all around lineman in the draft. Colts need to beef up their front wall.

16. Baltimore Ravens – Marlon Humphrey – CB, Alabama

• Even with additions like Brandon Carr and Tony Jefferson, Humphrey can come in and compete for the starting job. The Ravens do need help in the back end.

17. Washington Redskins – John Ross – WR, Washington

• DeSean Jackson is now in Tampa and the Redskins need a cheaper, younger and equally as fast receiver. Enter Ross who broke the combine record for the 40 yard dash with a 4.22.

18. Tennessee Titans – O.J Howard – TE, Alabama

• Marcus Mariota could use some more weapons. How about an elite tight end? Yes please. Can you imagine Howard to go along with already reliable tight end Delanie Walker? Oh boy.

19. Tampa Bay Bucs – Christian McCaffery – RB, Stanford

• So when Fournette and Cook are off the board the Bucs can also “settle.” Except, they will get one of the best playmakers in college football. You can put McCaffery anywhere.

20. Denver Broncos – Garrett Bolles – OT, Utah

• Bolles will help out the line play for Denver. Likely out on Tony Romo, the Broncos need to protect their future in second year man Paxton Lynch or incumbent starter Trevor Siemian.

21. Detroit Lions – Teez Tabor – DB, Florida

• Detroit could pair Tabor up with Darius Slay and hit the pass rusher pick in the second round. Their defense could use a great talent like Tabor to be their No. 1 corner if Slay ever flames out.

22. Miami Dolphins – Takkarist McKinley – DL, UCLA

• McKinley makes a day one impact. Don’t screw it up Miami.

23. New York Giants – Haason Reddick – DE/LB, Temple

• Reddick will beef up the linebackers for the Giants who already have a dangerous defense. This could put them over the top.

24. Oakland Raiders – Adoree Jackson – CB/WR, USC

• Jackson is a playmaker regardless if he needs to sharpen up his coverage skills to have a long career at the next level. I think the Raiders will take their chances.

25. Houston Texans – Cam Robinson – OL, Alabama

• I say Tony Romo will be their quarterback opening day, so the Texans better protect him.

26. Seattle Seahawks – Ryan Ramczyk – OL, Wisconsin

• The Seahawks need to sharpen up the offensive line to protect Russell Wilson. Wilson thrives on his mobility but not when he is getting hit.

27. Kansas City Chiefs – Zach Cunningham – LB, Vanderbilt

• Chiefs need a successor to Derrick Johnson and Cunningham could fill the void when needed.

28. Dallas Cowboys – Budda Baker – S, Washington

• Their secondary is getting thinner and thinner. Sharpen up the back end with Baker.

29. Green Bay Packers – T.J. Watt – LB, Wisconsin

• 3-4 system? Check. Need for a rusher opposite Clay Matthews? Check. Watt is an explosive playmaker on defense. The Packers should not pass him up.

30. Pittsburgh Steelers – Charles Harris – OLB, Missouri

• He can play in a 3-4 or a 4-3 as a linebacker/defensive end. Harris has 18 career sacks including nine just last season. The Steelers would love to have another pass rusher especially with James Harrison in the twilight of his career.

31. Atlanta Falcons – Caleb Brantley – DL, Florida

• Throw in another defensive lineman who can help out the pass rush and stuff the run and the Falcons might’ve held off the Patriots.

32. New Orleans Saints – Corey Davis – WR, Western Michigan

• I may be a bit crazy, but hear me out. If the above all happens (which it won’t) Davis will fall to the end of the round but the Saints will wisely pick him up. Trading away a playmaker like Brandin Cooks stinks but the Saints got an extra first round pick out of it and can cash in with a stud like Davis.
