NWHL Announces Dates of Free Agent Camps

The National Women’s Hockey League has announced the dates for their three free agent camps to be held this summer.

Players that registers for the camps through the league’s website, at www.nwhl.co, will be eligible to attend the free agent camps over the summer. The team general managers will contact the registrants to invite them to camp, to get a look at what they have to offer their organizations.

The training camps, which will be open to the public will take place from June 10 to June 12 in Newark, New Jersey at Barnabas Health Hockey House at Prudential Center. The second camp takes place in Buffalo, New York at Harborcenter from June 24 to June 26. The third camp will take place in Wilmington, Massachusetts at Ristuccia Arena from July 22 to July 24.

The camps in Newark and Buffalo will feature on and off ice training, while the final camp in Massachusetts will entail a pros and prospects tournament featuring the new and returning players to the NWHL.

Unrestricted free agents are players that have graduated from college and are not under contract with, or have been drafted by any other team in the league. Restricted free agency began for the NWHL on April 1 and runs until April 30, with the unrestricted free agency period commencing on May 1 and lasting until July 31. The NWHL Draft will take place on June 18.
