Somerset Patriots Sign 1B Kyle Roller

Roller-ReleaseBridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced the signing of first baseman Kyle Roller.

Roller enters his first season with the Somerset Patriots and in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He owns six seasons of service within the New York Yankees organization.

Roller was originally drafted by the Yankees in the 8th round of the 2010 MLB June Amateur Draft out of East Carolina University.   The Rockingham, North Carolina native has three straight seasons at the Triple-A level, including earlier this season with the Durham Bulls.

In 2014 for Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre, Roller hit 17 home runs and drove in 51 runs in 104 games. In two seasons with the Railriders, Roller hit 31 home runs with 110 RBI.

Roller will be activated for Friday night’s game against the Lancaster Barnstormers

In other team news, the Somerset Patriots have released Jeremy McBryde and placed outfielder Trayvon Robinson on the inactive list.
