Baseball Somerset Patriots Release Their 2019 Schedule by Somerset Patriots October 19, 2018 Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced their schedule for the 2019 season, beginning at home on Friday, April 26th against the New Britain Bees at 7:05 pm. CLICK HERE TO VIEW FULL SCHEDULE! The 140-game Atlantic League schedule will run from Friday, April 26th through Sunday, September 22nd with an even split of 70 home and road games. The Patriots will host 33 weekend games at TD Bank Ballpark. Game times for Monday through Saturday games are set for 7:05 pm, except for weekday games in April, May and September, which will begin at 6:35 pm. Sunday games are set for 1:05 pm in April, May, June and September, while changing to 5:05 pm in July and August. The team will host 18 firework nights and will be home on Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12th and Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16th. The team’s promotional calendar of events is currently in the works and will be announced throughout the off-season. Four day-night double headers are scheduled for the season. On Thursday, May 16th, the Patriots will take on the High Point Rockers at 11:05 am and 6:35 pm. On Wednesday, May 22nd, Somerset will host the Sugar Land Skeeters for an 11:05 am and 6:35 pm game. The Patriots will take on the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs at 11:05 am and 7:05 on Wednesday, June 5th. The final day-night double header will take place on Wednesday, July 31st at 11:05 am and 7:05 pm against the York Revolution. In addition to the early games of the day-night double headers, the Patriots will also have an 11:05 am games on Thursday, July 18th versus the York Revolution and Wednesday, August 14th versus the Lancaster Barnstormers. The league’s 22nd season of play will feature eight member clubs, highlighted by the addition of the High Point (N.C.) Rockers. The club, which takes the place of the Road Warriors in the Liberty Division, is scheduled to play its inaugural home game at the state-of-the-art BB&T Point Ballpark on Thursday, May 2nd. The ALPB schedule is divided into two 70-game halves, with the first half ending on Sunday, July 7th, and the regular season ending on Sunday, September 22nd. The first half and second half champions from the Liberty and Freedom Divisions will qualify for 2019 Atlantic League championship playoffs. Should one team win each half in their respective division, a wild card scenario comes into play where the team with the next best overall record, regardless of division, qualifies for the postseason. If both first half division champions win the second half as well, a double wild card scenario will be instituted. Both Division Championship Series matchups will take place the week of September 23rd, with the Atlantic League Championship Series occurring during the week of September 30th. The Somerset Patriots will be back in action on Friday, April 26th for Opening Day at TD Bank Ballpark.
