Baseball A trip to the AL Central highlights the 2019 schedule for the Mets by Daniel Yanofsky August 23, 2018 Ready to get this 2018 season out of your head? Now you can look forward to all that 2019 has to offer. MLB released next seasons schedule for the Mets. The team will be in Washington to start the season on March 28. It is assumed that Jacob deGrom will be the starting pitcher in that series. Their home opener at Citi Field takes place April 4 against the same Nationals they opened the season with. Here are some other highlights coming into the 2019 season: – The Mets will be facing a tough AL Central next season. Their first interleague game will be against the Twins on April 9. – The Subway Series begins June 10-11 at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees and the Mets face off again in Flushing from July 2-3. – September for the Mets will be an adventure. After finishing a series in Philadelphia, the team will be going to Washington for three days. From there, they have a ten-game homestand, hit the road for a week, before ending the season on a seven-game homestand against the Marlins and Braves. The All-Star Game in Cleveland is on July 9, giving the Mets plenty of time to heal up before facing the Marlins in Miami.
