Bridgewater, NJ-   The Somerset Patriots (21-26, 63-54) defeated the Bridgeport Bluefish (23-25, 64-54) 1-0 before 6,176 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.

Mike Antonini (2-1) earned the win, scattering three hits and striking out nine batters over six scoreless innings pitched.

“I was just mixing it up and trying to keep them off balance,” said Antonini. “[Catcher Adam Donachie] and I have been doing that since I got here. We work well together. I know the hitters a little bit, but he knows them really well from being in the league for a while.”

The Patriots broke the scoreless tie with the only run in the game in the bottom of the sixth inning on a sacrifice bunt by Donachie.

Ross Seaton (1-2) took the loss, allowing a run on nine hits in six innings pitched.

Ronnie Shaban was able to pitch out of a jam in the ninth inning with the bases loaded to earn his 11th save of the season.
