Clint Frazier’s Season is Over Before it Began

The injury woes continue for the New York Yankees as outfielder Clint Frazier’s season is all but done. The newly turned 24-year old was supposed to start his rehab assignment with the Tampa Tarpons Aug. 30. However, Frazier starting experiencing concussion symptoms again and was examined by Pittsburgh neurologist Dr. Micky Collins. Yankees manager Aaron Boone says the chances of Red Thunder returning for the 2018 season are “unlikely.”

“I’m hopeful, confident that he will,” Boone said to CBS Sports when asked if he expects Frazier to make a full recovery. “But then again, it’s been a year of trying to get our hands around what’s going on with him and trying to get him moving in the right direction with momentum and hopefully this is a step in that direction. We know there’s a lot of talent that he possesses … and we still believe he’ll be a very important part of our franchise going forward.”

It’s no secret that the 2018 season has not been a kind one to the Yankees when it comes to injuries. However, Clint Frazier’s struggles to get on the field throughout the season have been by far the most heartbreaking. It all started back in March, when Frazier missed all of spring training after he suffered a concussion when he crashed into a wall following a leaping catch.
