BIZ Conor McGregor Vs. Dustin Poirier At AT&T Stadium? Jerry Jones Is All For It by Nicholas Durst October 19, 2020 After accepting a January 23rd UFC return fight against Dustin Poirier, Conor McGregor immediately took to twitter requesting to have the fight at AT&T stadium in Dallas, Texas and in front of fans. I accept, Jan 23rd is on! My goal is to see this fight take place in Cowboy stadium. Proper Style! Jerry Jones is a friend and the stadium can hold our crowd. I will be ready for Texas and Texas will be ready for my fans! Then Manny. #McGregorSportsandEntertainment — Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) October 14, 2020 If this were to happen, it would be the first UFC event in front of fans since the beginning of the pandemic. So, is there a possibility that this could actually happen? Well it would seem that McGregor’s wish is evidently Jerry Jones’ command. The Cowboys owner says he’s now “very open” to hosting the Notorious’ next fight at his palace in Dallas. “I’m a real admirer of his,” Jones said of McGregor on 105.3 “The Fan” on Friday. “He’s one of the neatest individuals I think I’ve met. Period.” When Jones was asked about the possibility of making that happen, the 78-year-old Dallas Cowboys owner said he was more than down to try to make it work. “Conor is special,” Jerry said. “It would be quite a day for AT&T Stadium to have him. You’re a top man Jerry Jones! A true leader among men! Reminds me so much of Lorenzo.Let’s go Cowboys! https://t.co/Er4muaGDVg — Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) October 16, 2020 The UFC has yet to make the fight official, so selecting a location for the possible tilt is still a ways away. A rumored NFL playoff bubble which could use AT&T stadium as one of the host stadiums or a Cowboys playoff run could impact the possibility of hosting the fight. Jerry Jones has been operating Cowboys home games with roughly 25,000 people in attendance all season. So, if a deal is eventually made between Dana White, UFC, Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, it could pave the way for thousands of fans to watch a fight in person and it would all be because McGregor put it out there on twitter.
