Staff writer Scott Mahnken shares his NFL 2018 draft analysis by breaking down his top 20 picks.
Mahnken is an avid fan of college football and did his best to not let his admiration of Fighting Irish football to interfere with his objectivity.

  1. Saquon Barkley        RB     Penn State    Browns let RB Isiah Crowell leave, enough said.
  2. Josh Rosen        QB    UCLA    Giants shock Jets, selecting former Don Bosco Prep star.
  3. Sam Darnold        QB    USC    Jet’s don’t get Rosen, but need a QB badly.
  4. Josh Allen        QB    Wyoming    Built to play in cold weather. Cleveland
  5. Bradley Chubb        DL    NC State    With the big 3 gone Denver goes D.
  6. Quenton Nelson    OL    ND        Possibly the safest pick in the draft. Indy.
  7. Derrius Guice        RB    LSU        This kids a beast, lots of potential. Tampa.
  8. Calvin Ridley        WR    Bama        Bears QB needs a top receiver.
  9. Kolton Miller        OL    UCLA        Niners QB needs protection.
  10. Ron Jones II        RB    USC        Raiders rely on local talent.
  11. Baker Mayfield       QB    OKLA        The future QB of the Dolphins, yet risky.
  12. Harold Landry        DL     BC        With QB’s gone, Buffalo picks local boy.
  13. DJ Moore        WR    Maryland    Another local pick for Redskins, bad franchise.
  14. Sony Michel        RB    Georgia        Aaron Rodgers finally gets a RB.
  15. Mike McGlinchey    RB    ND        Arizona makes a conservative pick.
  16. Haydon Hurst        TE    SC        Ravens pick top TE of the draft.
  17. Vita Vea        DL    Wash        Chargers bolster defense.
  18. Nick Chubb        RB    Georgia        Seattle addresses core need at RB.
  19. Roquan Smith        LB    Georgia        Dallas building a strong D.
