Bridgewater, NJ- The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball has announced a league-high eight Somerset Patriots to the 2017 Atlantic League All-Star Game to be played on Wednesday, July 12^th at TD Bank Ballpark.

Pitchers Rick Teasley, David Kubiak, and Duane Below will join catcher Yovan Gonzalez, infielders Tyler Bortnick and Carlos Guzman, and outfielders Aharon Eggleston and Justin Pacchioli as members of the Liberty Division squad.

Teasley finished the first half 7-1 with a 2.54 ERA and 46 strikeouts over 70.2 innings pitched in 13 games (nine started). His seven wins is tied for best in the league and his 2.54 ERA is good for second.

Kubiak’s 75 strikeouts is tied for the second highest in the league and his 3.39 ERA hovers around the top ten for the first half for his 71.2 innings pitched.

Below is 4-1 with a 2.20 ERA over 36.2 innings pitched in 23 relief appearances. He has excelled in his role as middle-reliever all season long for the Patriots.

Gonzalez has a .325 average with 18 runs, 54 hits, six doubles, three home runs, and 17 RBI in 46 games. He has four walk off hits for Somerset so far this season, including a game-winner on Opening Day.

Tyler Bortnick is hitting .290 with 25 runs, 56 hits, eight doubles, a home run (grand slam), and 26 RBI in 56 games played.

Carlos Guzman leads the team with 63 hits and 35 RBI in a team-high 60 games played. He is hitting .273 with 25 runs, two home runs, and seven doubles.

Aharon Eggleston makes his fourth All-Star appearance in his fifth year in Somerset. He has a .283 average, 29 runs, 49 hits, nine doubles, a home run, and 24 RBI.

Justin Pacchioli is batting .345 with 38 runs, 51 hits, four doubles, two triples, and 19 RBI. He has 22 stolen bases, good for third in the league.

The 2017 Atlantic League All-Star Game is the premiere event of the summer, hosted by the Somerset Patriots at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday, July 12^th.
