Former Met and Mariner Pizzano joins Somerset

28-year-old outfielder/infielder Dario Pizzano has signed with the Somerset Patriots, according to a release Wednesday afternoon.

He will be active for tonight’s game against the Long Island Ducks at 7:05 pm, according to the release.

He  began the 2019 season with the Binghamton Mets where he had 37 hits to compliment 15 BRI in 39 appearances.

In 2013 he experienced his best season where he boasted a .311 batting average, 70 RBI and eight home runs. That year he was named a Mid-Season All-Star with the Clifton (Iowa) Lumberkings, the Class-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins.

The 15th-round draft pick spent a total of seven season in the Seattle Mariners organization before signing with the Mets in 2019.
