Baseball Fransoso Wins It Again For Patriots With Walk-Off Single Mike Fransoso’s walk-off single lifted Somerset to a 5-4 victory in 10 innings over the Revolution on Saturday. by Somerset Patriots June 9, 2019 Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (25-17) defeated the York Revolution (13-29) 5-4 in ten innings before 6,014 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday evening. Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the tenth inning, Somerset rallied for three runs. Will Kengor drove in one and Edwin Espinal tied up the game with an RBI base hit. After a double steal put runners on second and third, and an intentional walk of Michael Ohlman loaded the bases, Mike Fransoso smacked the game-winning single to center field to seal the victory. “My teammates did a good job of loading the bases so they made it pretty easy,” said Fransoso, who also had the go-ahead home run the night before against the Revolution. “I just tried to put a good swing on it, something I can drive in the air to the outfield, and let [Craig Massey] use his speed.” The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI single by Rey Navarro. Somerset extended the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when Ramon Flores singled home a run for a 2-0 advantage. The Revolution tied up the game in the top of the eighth inning on a two-run home run by Angelys Nina (1).
