Baseball Gamel’s Walk Off Homer Wins It For Somerset In 12 Innings by Somerset Patriots July 15, 2015 Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (3-3, 53-23) defeated the Camden Riversharks (1-5, 29-47) 3-2 in 12 innings Wednesday afternoon at TD Bank Ballpark in game one of a day-night doubleheader. First baseman Mat Gamel clubbed a walk-off home run (4) as he finished a triple shy of the cycle. In the top of the third inning center fielder Michael Rockett slapped a RBI single to give Camden a 1-0 advantage. Catcher Norberto Susini hit a RBI sacrifice fly to stretch Camden’s lead to 2-0 in the top of the fourth inning. Left fielder Aharon Eggleston ripped a game tying two RBI double to even the score at 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning. It was the Patriots 16th win in their final at bat and ninth walk-off win of the season. Daniel Sattler earned the win (5-2) in relief. Daniel Herrera suffered the loss (2-3) in relief. The 2015 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue tonight as the Somerset Patriots remain at TD Bank Ballpark for the night portion of the doubleheader against the Camden Riversharks.
