Clint Frazier (CBS Sports) Move over Joe DiMaggio, there is a new Yankee Clipper in town and it’s Clint Frazier’s barber. The Yankees top outfield prospect traded in his long luscious red locks for pinstripes Friday. Early Friday morning the Yankees PR twitter page sent out this tweet. httpss://twitter.com/YankeesPR/status/840202798373445633 Clint Frazier spoke with Joe Girardi last night and they agreed his hair had become a “distraction”. Personally I’m a fan of Frazier’s long locks and I don’t see how it was a distraction. Yes there were small weekly reports about how long the Yankees would let Frazier keep his hair as long as it was, but who was it really “distracting”? Frazier has been doing very well at the plate thus far and we haven’t heard any rumblings from the Yankee clubhouse about Clint getting special treatment from the Steinbrenner’s long standing policy. Girardi said today that his hair did not violate team policy. So instead of forcing him to the barber why not publicly state his hair is acceptable under team rules? httpss://twitter.com/YankeesPR/status/840202798373445633 Instead Clint was very optimistic about his new look saying, “It’s time to look like everybody else around here”. He also shared that his hair hasn’t been this short since he was in seventh grade. “I like my hair, but I love playing for this organization more”. That is the quote from Frazier that should stick with Yankee fans. Clint Frazier is all business and he’ll do anything for his team on or off the field. The Yankees PR did release that Frazier’s hair clippings will be donated to Locks for Love, an organization that creates wigs for children with cancer.
